Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website. Reading its content, opening a page, or submitting a search indicates acceptance of every term below. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, Texas, or federal government body. The site and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its role is limited to locating Hays County and Texas criminal-record resources. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve them, perform official checks, or submit documents for a user.

The site identifies agencies that maintain Hays County criminal records, including the sheriff, court clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. It may also connect visitors with independent research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is permitted only if you agree not to:

  • Use bots, scraping software, or other automated tools against the pages
  • Violate a federal, state, or local law
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass someone with information found here
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Gain or attempt unauthorized access to any system
  • Disrupt performance or interfere with access by other visitors

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool may not be used to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or unlawfully discriminate. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 governs the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry and warns against misuse. Registry information exists for public safety, not vigilantism, blacklisting, or discriminatory conduct.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners are not presented as services for applicant screening, rental decisions, insurance rating, or credit review. Data from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally authorized check for a regulated purpose must be obtained from Texas DPS or a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Hays County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to one person. That question belongs with a licensed Texas attorney.

6. No Warranties

All material and services are provided "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges may be filed or dismissed, and records may later be restricted or expunged. Updates can lag. Nothing published here is an official statement from a sheriff, clerk, court, or government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff and court pages, Texas agencies, legal resources, or independent search services. We do not control a destination's content, data practices, pricing, accuracy, or availability. Its own terms apply after a visitor leaves this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Hays County Criminal History or the relevant content partner. Copying, modification, distribution, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims or demands caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with use of the website must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the new version is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
